Seeing the nexus mods for this... I'm not surprised There has been quite the effort in dongs and tits since the beginning of this game. Especially from the LGBT community... darn freaks ( and I mean that in a loving way!) Laughing

Really would not have imagined that those crazy modders from Bethesda games are at this game too.

Saw SJW's with some "EQUALITYYY" mods on their forums, wasn't surprised by this either.

If a game can be modded, you can be sure of three things;

1. Nude mods. Day 1. First women, then men, then come the photo-realistic textures for dongs and vags and high-poly dongs. Also.. horse vag. Every time.

2. Cheat mods. Everything from diddled-eyed joe to damned if I know. Money, wallhacks, infinite energy, if it's a game value it will and can be tweaked.

3. Sex dungeons. Fully realised sex dungeons.

*nods*

The same ones that threw EPIC bitchfits over someone turning Maru "white", all applauded and screamed and hollered and whooped over the "turn white people black" or "turn Abigail into a rainbowed haired dunneednoman" mods.

Funny that.

Hopefully some AAA's learn quite a lot of gamer's prefer some depth and actually participating in the gameplay instead of press x to watch cinematic gameplay.

Stardew's piracy levels are probably quite high and yet, one dude manages to have sales way, way than many actually expected. Marketing for Stardew was mostly word of mouth and some mentions on a few sites, while Square's games had an aggressive marketing campaign and yet they didn't manage to sell in two months around 1 million copies...Square should fire their upper management pronto and take a look of what this dude managed to do...But we'll probably have something more in line with "people don't want this kind of games anymore".... And yet Punch Club, by a small team and not-tiny-publisher, sold 300k copies and had the publisher whining about high piracy rates. I guess this is a pretty goddamn good example of; "Make a great game and it will sell" Very Happy

Hell...I play Stardew in small sessions, as i do intend to get the game from GOG next month (what can i say: between Steam and DRM-free there is not much of a contest).

And i love the every bit of time spent on it. Sure..would have loved better graphics, something more in line with Harvest Moon, but Stardew is the next, best thing, with no contest from me. And strangely...that's one man's work...

Meanwhile, most of the big ones, and not only, are preoccupied on shifting blame for their failures, while this single man continues to support his game.

Guess that the big ones are way too disconnected of their potential market and too caught in their Holywood ways of thinking.

And who is to say SDV hasn't been pirated several million times? The point is what blackdochia said above; everyone else is preoccupied with shifting blame for their failures and not recognising reasons *why* something is pirated so greatly. Punch Club is a tiny game and it sold over 300k copies on PC alone.. that's a *staggeringly* high amount of copies sold for a niche indie title with little marketing, yet instead of celebrating that.. they complain about high piracy rate instead.

It's not only the big ones though, think we sometimes give indie/smaller companies way too much leeway when they are acting like the big boys.

I was very disappointed to see Tinybuild bitch about piracy for a game that had nostalgia and not much else. Yup I pirated it, happens in a landscape of no demos and it wasn't good so: no buy... see you in a bundle in the future. But in their eyes I'm still just a dirty dirty pirate Rolling Eyes Razz /rant

Had no problem giving the full 14.99€ to Stardew Valley after a few hours with the GoG download. Very Happy

Have plenty of friends that got the ISOdemo version and bought the game. Especially after seeing the pricing. They are considering those money well invested and most of them did not even heards about Harvest Moon, with only two actually playing some of the Harvest Moon games.

And that says a lot about the game's appeal to people with rather diverse tastes.

Post-Launch Progress Update: Version 1.1 and more!
Quote:
First, here is a list of what’s planned for the future of Stardew Valley:
- Version 1.1 — A substantial content update
- Co-op Multiplayer
- Localizing for non-english regions
- Mac/Linux Ports
- Console Ports
- Merchandise

Now, there’s obviously a huge amount of work involved to achieve all this… and I am just one person. I know in the past I’ve been very adamant about doing everything myself… and I still am, when it comes to game design and content. However, I’ve decided to seek outside help for some of the more technical things listed above. More specifically, I’ve accepted an offer from Chucklefish in which they will handle the porting, localization, and the technical side of multiplayer. This will allow me to focus on creating new game content for version 1.1, which I will continue to do entirely on my own.

In the meantime, I’d like to give a little rundown of some things I’m planning for version 1.1:
- More late-game content
- New farm buildings
- New crops
- New artisan goods
- New advanced farming/producing mechanics
- Shane and Emily will be marriage candidates. They will also have more events and dialogue as a result.
- More marriage content for all spouses
- More events for the non-marriage NPC’s
- Improvements/Additions to mining and combat
- Ability to move buildings and other convenience features
- More bug fixes
- More secrets
- More small, fun touches to the world

Stardew Valley coming to consoles Q4 2016
Quote:
In one of my previous posts, I mentioned that console ports were in the works, but I couldn’t give you any more details at the time.

So today, I’m pleased to officially announce that Stardew Valley is coming to the Xbox One, Playstation 4 and Wii U!

With the help of Chucklefish and Sickhead Games, I’m expecting to have these versions ready in time for the winter holidays!

It’s very important to me that playing Stardew Valley with console controllers is intuitive and effortless. I’ll be the first to admit that the current, rudimentary controller support in the PC version is far from ideal, and it will need to be adjusted prior to the launch.

I’m also excited about the possibility of utilizing special console features like the Wii U’s second screen!

How deep is this game (don't say balls deep bob)? From the description and the vids, it seems very shallow and repetitive.

Okay

Did you ever play Harvest Moon, and now just need a comparison?
Or is this your first kind of game?

Harvest moon has failed me so many times after Friends of Mineral town.

But i gotta say, this thing blew HM out of the map. Play it, if u give it a spin and see all the things u can do, u will enjoy it.

Yea, it's best to just try the isodemo first if you like these kind of games.
Personally i really enjoy them.

Basically this game is mostly about building your farmstead up and getting more efficient at harvesting by making more profit

You can also romance others, there are events every season you can particiapte in, and you can also visit a mine and a dungeon to fight and get loot.

Is there some kind of help menu ingame that I can't find? I caught a fish, but I'm not sure I knew what I was doing. Am I supposed to figure out everything by luck?

You have to "catch" the fish by using your green slider. Nothing more to it.

It gets easier if you rise your fishing skill or use baits.

Ah the fishing mini game... way too tedious for the reward. I just used a mod for it so I could skip the whole bar up and down crap.
