Looks indie as fuck, like vanilla Mount and Blade levels of eurojank (kinda fitting given the subject matter ), but after watching a few videos it looks kinda promising and mostly functional.
It seems to be a Tropico style nation manager. You take over a communist nation, manage workers, resources, production, supply chains, etc. In Tropico the emphasis was on more of the social aspects, while the economy was not really interesting. Seem to be the opposite here, which I can appreciate.
Damn... A lot of that stuff reminds me of my childhood. Still remember them crappy buses and trucks slowly being replaced. And you still see those aweful buildings around only painted
I'm from Hungary, so this fills me with nostalgia as well. Granted I only lived 5-6 years under communist rule, but it took about a decade to either replace or make those concrete boxes they called "apartments" to look a bit more suitable for human occupation. Can't wait to order my good old classic baby-blue Ifas to haul some steel.
Decent so far. Kinda like Tropico in terms of worker management, and Transport Fever in terms of dealing with supply-chains.
Because of the supreme amounts of graphical glitches I can only recommend to people who are feeling nostalgic about soviet-era architecture. The tycoon-gameplay itself is working surprisingly well (only encountered an issue with buildings not feeding each other even with forklift passages between them, but only happened once).
The main issue for me right now is the extreme jankiness of the road building tools and graphics. Hope they work on those next. Even with the very-much-indie levels of graphics, the roads are still just plain horrific to look at.
I like how big the map is. Several towns are available to start in, or you can find a resource rich area, and you need to decide if you want to bus in ppl from nearby villages or build a new town to satisfy the industry.
It's well timed for me - the Chernobyl series fanned my interest in Soviet times once more and I love the setting and style of Soviet buildings and architecture.
That framerate at 24 seconds , and the next one like now were talking boys, 24 fps.
The game looks like shit and they have trouble achieving a decent framerate. Forget about this game, the devs are incapable.
So glad they hadn't abandoned this project (yet ).
Still wish they would do some kind of visual and general de-janking patch tho.
Funny how this game is EXACTLY what I wanted from a city builder. Well, my ideal game would have been set in ancient Egypt, but the core ideas are all I ever wanted.
Colossal country sized map
Separate little cities specialising in different industries
Freeform road and building construction, no tiles in sight
was hoping for the second coming of transport tycoon (more like a-train).. those textures are something but otherwise it looks like a pretty neat game.
poor dudes dont seem to have discovered programmable pipelines or basic shaders
edit: snow/temperature detail looks great

Conspiracy Theory but living in EE I think the graphics are a concious decision because playing it I have PTSD flashbacks. Not to mention THAT music.
