I hate cinnamon and ginger. Garlic isn't too bad. But the smell.
But thanks for the tips.
I was going to have a whiskey and hot lemon with honey. But I have no lemons or lemon juice.
Plus I've stopped drinking, so no whiskey either.

I have some absinthe here.
Never had that before. I'm a tad reluctant to try it.
Ever tried absinthe compubrain?

@syco
ativan is like a valium (I think it is in some other class of drug tho) They can really fuck up if you are not careful. I took 3 once when I had to fly on a plane. Then I took 3 glasses of wine to wash it down. BIG FUCKING MISTAKE. I kinda had to be carried off the plane, almost. I hate planes, I imagine them going down in some downward spiral. esp over water. I am really good in a heli-jet tho. I love those. But I have to have a window seat. I am sure compubrain can educate us all of the effects of ativan. LOL.
@compubrain
Hot drinks FTW. I eat ginger every day. Sometimes I take it if I ate something smelly instead of chewing gum. If you are nauseous ginger totally helps. I never take gravel. Don’t know if I believe in the garlic. I just think it keeps people away from you so you expose yourself less ergo you get sick less. Lemon plus the peel is good tho with some honey. I give that to my friends son when he is sick plus I bring over chicken soup (with a couple of matzo balls). Nothing is better then a hot honey drink. I am going to try the cinnamon idea.
@jenni
OK you have infected all my friends. (well not all but a lot) Talking to my friends yesterday 3 are getting over colds. I haven’t gotten one so far but I can feel it a bit in the back of my throat. A tiny bit of whiskey really helps the throat. You have to let it down the throat a little bit at a time.
Why are you not drinking? Is there something you want to tell us? Absinthe, is that a kind of alcohol? or is it a drug. I have read about it in a few books.
Hope you are feeling better

Absinthe is illegal here, weee. Considerd as a drug. Stupid Norway. Well, its just fucking strong and taste like liquorice. But yeah, there are different types. You can't get 'real' absinthe anymore.

You never take Ativan with alcohol, it lowers your blood pressure and can render you unconscious, as you found out

Garlic is very effective as an anti-viral, it contains sulfur compounds which are active against the flu virus.
The cinnamon is very good too, but boil it with milk to make it more bearable, tastes much better |
One of the most embarrasing mistakes in my life. I had no idea that would happen. When I got home I tried to turn the heat up in the house using the alarm code box , I couldn't figure out why it was working. A friend was with me and made me go to bed. I think I slept for 16 hrs after that. I don't know how I even got past customs at the airport. This was pre 911, but today I am sure I would of gone thu a body cavity search or something to that effect. They are so friggen rude these days I HATE going to the states.
I like cinnamon by itself. Cinnamon and milk, sounds like Chi tea. I drink a lot of chi tea with cartamon (sp) I love cartamon. It is the new cinnamon.
I would like to try absinthe one day
People are always doing it in a lot of the books I read. Historical stories and such.
What does it do to you?

Nah I still feel rotten.
I had to quit out of Battle Field 2 when I was a gunner in the chopper. It made me feel worse. It was motion sickness ten times over.
I'm not drinking because I've been drinking a bottle or two of wine a night just to get to sleep. On a weekend I'm drinking even more. I suppose it's the pressure and stress at work. Plus not seeing my hubby.
Deelix you're half right on it being illegal. It is legal, but with a low thujon content.

I feel ya Jenni.
Spent the day drinking with my family. I was half sick when i woke up...now i feel completely sick...shitty
@pistol
Ativan sounds like fun. Valums are fun And with 1-3 beers, they mix nicely.
Dont bother buying the Absinthe available in Canada. Its nasty and it doesnt make you trip. You know whats a good type of liquer? Agwa (or Ogwa)...lime green, coolaid tasting liquer. Made from the coco plant
Maybe they still make real absinthe in europe? I think its made from wormwood and it makes you tripout. I read that somewhere, I dunno where tho

Yeah thats right Sycho. We're allowed 35mg per measure I think. I got it from a friend when she was in Warsaw a while back. It's got a pretty low alcohol content, but a large thujon contect I think. Hey my Polish isn't great. Actually I think it's actually Czech.

High Five!
Did they tell you that you should stop drinking too?

I stopped a few weeks ago.
Pain in the arse it is. I mean I eat healthy. Plenty of fruit and veg. Might start cross country running again.
I'm skinny as a rake too.

Yeah, that was just wrong.. He couldn't find any other easy way to get the bloodpressure just a litttttle bit up. Its dangerous to do lots of stuff to get it higher, suddenly you got to high. But i think mom found a good way to get it up just a little bit. Drink lots of water or something. Don't remember exactly.

Skinny as a rake?
Rakes are thick compared to twigs! You should go on a diet.

I know what you mean... well knew... I'm on a holiday now
My nephew has gone away to Europe for the summer. No work at all. Just sitting at home and working on my personal projects and relaxing at the local parks and taking long walks in the middle of the night.
Fucking awesome. But I do miss my nephew though
