Guessing it's similar to Monster Hunter World where you can solo and have a hub with other players.

Yep. Everything seems its on server side.
At least its not Gacha like on mobile you have to spend money...
It does indeed look like a trashy mobile game.
And the GameBolt review gives it 4/10. It says some bosses have 5 stages and you start from the beginning if you die which I absolutely despise.
