How about you fuckers post some stuff to actually help new players. How am I supposed to know ?!
- you need to find those green kodama dudes to increase elixir count
- you can have them kodama appear on your minimap if you have gear with kodama sense
- you actually get gear with kodama sense from the getgo by going into shrine>boon. apparently its preorder stuff but I got it without preordering
- there's equipment weight similar to dark souls, increased by stamina, and you need to keep it under 70%
- katana is not noob friendly, the starter weapon is the switchglaive

I tend to play with the sword only (Unless if you use a 2nd weapon in your inventory and it doesn't weights on your equipment/dodging then i might go for a melee long range weapon of whatever melee)
I just look forward to be able to resist damage (health), carry any kind of weapon/armor, stamina for attacks/dodging and lastly activate armor effects. NOT going to use any kind of magic (limited uses)
And i've already got a Kodama detector and paying attention to the radar (Not sure how many Kodamas ya need to increase the Elixir uses a la Souls' Estus), catching all Kodamas in sight
What'd be the best stats for me?

Is Dual Swords still the most OP weapon? I remember it was the easiest weapon to kill bosses in Nioh 1. Still haven't played much. Tried hatchets + switchglaive back in March for couple of missions. Didn't like hatches too much. Switchglaive was awesome though. Will surely start over in remastered version. Thinking of Dual Swords + Switchglaive build for first full play.

Magic is always nice as a secondary skill as you get to use a lot of spells to buff your main weapon.
U can get Steel talisman (for defense), Carnage talisman (for attack power), Barrier talisman (for KI recovery) and Weakness talisman (to reduce enemy defense). All of them if you have high magic. If not, yeah, there's no reason not to get at least 1 of them, maybe the healing spell.
And for ninja I would get at least 9 dexterity to be able to carry 2x Quick-change scrolls (surviving attacks that would kill you otherwise) + 1 tiger-running scrolls (for rushing to the boss area when farming bosses)

Game is really fun. I enjoy hatchets and staves the most so far, but haven't really tried all weapons yet.

I'm too fond of my Odachi to try anything else, probably not the wisest choice but its punchy feedback is just too appealing even though I'm already having my arse pounded by a giant snake
The combat with its sub-systems and beastly superjaphero modes definitely is the highlight, since the level design (once again) isn't too memorable and the focus on bloat with its silly colourful random loot will never not qualify as an immersion breaker. I was secretly hoping this sequel would improve upon the mundane aspects that held Nioh 1 back from being truly great for me, but it's a more-o'-the-same-yet-enhanced 2.0 production..which is still fine. Well, apart from the shamefur laziness of the porting job that is quite inexcusable, but then again it is a tradition by now.
While the Souls saga manages to provide rewarding exploration and constant dense atmosphere by taking the best of both the Western world and Asian one, this game leans a tad too much towards the latter for my tastes. It occasionally also feels like deja vu-ish epilepsy-inducing grunt work, however, as a whole it has many qualities and its formula is still very addictive. The enemy variety was improved and the bosses are still absolute cocksuckers who enjoy resorting to bizarre swindling techniques, but that's the beauty of it.

Going through the second region now but I don't enjoy it as much as dark souls. Enemies hit like trucks, that's fine. But what I absolutely despise about the game is when you get caught in a 3 hit combo where the first attack staggers you and then you die without being able to do anything about it.

isn't that why you have those yokai abilities? that's there to save your ass in situations like that if I remember right. haven't played it since release.

New patch out and this is one of the fixes which btw wasn't fixed in the original game

This game has ridiculous bosses.
The fight vs Enenra is just bullshit...
20 tries so far , I die so fast...He hits like a truck and hits fast..And at level 10 (recommended) you just don't have enough tools to use..
I guess only From Software know how to do proper bosses.
And co-op....Replaying the whole level if you fail to kill a boss..no saving at the shrines..lol

Their whole difficulty formula is designed on being unfair. Their approach has nothing on Dark Souls.

Hah as if dark souls bosses dont suffer the same crap? Take for example the need to perfectly dodge or the bosses will turn 180 degrees mid swing and cleave your head in two.

Dark Souls suffers of this as of late, when their imagination started to run dry. But Nioh was like this from the get go. You can immediately notice this from the damage distribution.

Yea that sucks, is true and was implemented with Dark Souls 2 (which was an abomination - from downgraded visuals to absolutely cheap ass unfair game systems). Haven't played much DS3, but...
Dark Souls 1 was perfection.
... perfection.
... fection...
... tion.

My only complaint of Dark Souls 2 was the implementation of soul memory. You get matched in pvp based on your soul memory instead of your soul level. Why do dis ?! Enough to make me stop playing the game. Other than that.. some copy pasta boss design, a lot actually.
Nioh 2, I admit, too hard for me. Just like the previous game, I always feel underleveled and it's not enjoyable enough to start grinding.

I believe that DS2 was more unfair and harder than Nioh2. Grinding to level up is one of the viable strategies in both games, however I never needed to grind (repeat already beaten missions) to be able to progress further in Nioh2 and I'm not very skillfull. DS2 progression felt like pain in the ass in comparison

If i can manage nioh 2 you guys can too. Im ridiculously slow at learning new things in games like these. Took me a long time to learn the rush counter thing and i more often than not dont even use yokai powers, but still beat the main game. Have to get around to playing the dlc's.

Nioh has easy mode, when you feel too unfair. Always use good old Sloth talisman when some boss feels too unfair. Barrier talisman is next I guess. Helps a lot in second phases of bosses when they go nonstop spam of brutal attacks.

I think that Sloth Talismans are nerfed in Nioh2, in the 1st one they were OP true that
