how old we talking? my gf has my old stuff so i5 3570k with gtx 760, both could be labeled as "old"
after some tweaks she´s at around 45frames give or take, depending on the location and she says its playable that way. no idea if that helps men

well, where talking about an q9550 @ 3.8 ghz (4cores)
and an gtx 670 (oced quite a bit)
8 gb ddr2 ram (atleast @ 1100mhz)
yeah i know, its time to upgrade, but most stuff works so im not really eager to upgrade since it would cost me a lot..i would need to buy allmost everything new...

Yeah every few years it's a whole different platform and with current prices I've been trying to hold off too but it's not really improving much, might be opposite although RAM is coming down a little bit last I checked.
The game is demanding and scaling isn't the best, Crysis 1 did a pretty good job although it also shifted a generation or two back once you dialed things down whereas later on it's mostly smaller differences though shaders and effects like shadows can still push even more recent GPU's and CPU's to their limits.

Isodemo it and see for yourself. But you will be well sub-30 fps on the lowest settings on that rig I imagine. Probably down to single digits in the middle of the large towns.

Yeah, the problem definitely magnifies near the towns, Rattay and the likes in general generate absurd framerate drops no matter the settings used even on more powerful rigs.
With my semi-vintage buddy (i5-2500k @4.4Ghz/970GTX/8GB DDR3) the current version of the game performs about the same as the initial 1̶.̶0 0.1 one did, except for the loading times that are finally bearable even on a puny standard HDD. Anything above High details makes the poor processor sweat more than a fat swine at a bacon factory, and I doubt the lack of proper Cryscalability will ever be fixed. The best way in my case is to roll with Medium no fucks given mode - minus the textures set to High + tuned sliders since there's VRAM available - and then artificially limit the framerate to ~50fps with RTSS in order to minimize the micro-jumps. It's a peasant compromise but still acceptable all things considered.
Yeah, even on my relatively modern rig (6700k @4.8GHz & 1080 Ti @~2GHz) it's basically running locked @60 FPS (everything on highest except Lighting, Shader Details and Shadows on medium) @1440p but as soon as you gallop through Rattay the LOD system just get's bottle-necked like crazy and it stutters/drops to low 50s.
But hey. As long as I stand still I get 60FPS 99.9% of the time!
Still hoping for some miracle patches, No Man's Sky style but not holding my breath.
Still 2 more DLCs after that one too, then mod support
So going by their current progress... probably done by July? Then a month or two of fixing the game with all DLC... so it can maaaybe be played in it's entire patched up state towards the end of the year
Probably some GOTY type edition coming by the end of the year too.
For starters, stop making changes and adding shit to the game that would continually break an enduser SDK (without regular updates, which is time and money). Releasing an SDK once the game is abandoned makes sense for them, as it's basically one and done.
Then, undoubtedly, followed by some mod that makes everything a lot better. There are already some good mods and that's without any official support whatsoever. If people can make proper changes to the game, we (or I, at least) might be able to play it by 2022 (once those mods are finished and patched up as well)
It's something I don't want to attempt again until it's done and dusted. It's far too unique to waste on some bug-ridden playthrough with poor balancing.
Vavra said after all the dlcs are out they'll do a rebalancing patch. He played the game start to finish recently and was disgusted how easy it become during the latter parts.

He should speak to the man in charge about this outrage!
I wanted to wait a bit more as well, but the precious free time had to be put to good use (otherwise Henry would have abandoned the main quest to become a bathouse wench) so I just wrestled the messy cry-cumans, said screw it and finished it.
Holy do prdele jesus, what a great experience it was. The word 'immersive' gets thrown around a lot these days, but here it truly is the most accurate way to describe the game. Unlike most titles the player has a real, tangible physical presence, it feels like you're an essential part of the world and not just a faux superpuppet at the service of bling-addicted GPS lords. The environments and towns are always organic and coherent, of the 80ish hours I've spent playing (standard mode + a few minor mods), quite a few of them were dedicated to simply walking down the rivers on top of my horse or aimlessly wandering through the beautiful countryside just for the sake of it
It's not all a bed field of roses though, even after one year of "Early Access" this is indeed a wild beast. The combat itself is never quite as dynamic/satisfying as it should be, every now and then enemies act like schizophrenic maniacs, the world is rather uneventful, obscure multidimensional glitches happen regularly and so on. I also tried keeping the character under control but the rewarding challenge left the Bohemian lands after 30-40 hours anyway. Still, all the problems didn't really manage to tarnish the game for me, thankfully I didn't encounter any game breaking bugs and could complete all the quests (v1.7.2) which was relieving.
Many of the stories and situations are memorable simply because they feel alive, in a way the writing reminded me of CDProjekt's quality storytelling. I liked that it presents all sorts of lively characters: you deal with cunning bastards, daft peasants, charming hilarious folks, stoic rulers, proper cunts, the list is long. The C&C system used for dialogues and quests is a good one too (directly affected by your character's status), although sometimes it works in mysterious ways.
I don't know if the half-implemented ideas, uneven balance, poor optimization, and alien AI patterns will ever be fixed, but it's still such an engaging game, it sets itself apart from the usual tripe-As and definitely deserves recognition. Kudos to the based Vavràmen, despite all the shortcomings and noticeable budget-related issues (including the rather unceremonious cliffhanger *ding ding*) for me it's worth at least 8 happy Henries /10
Will most likely play it again in the distant future, hopefully there will be the (more polished) Chapter II that will let us know how the kurvadventure ends.
Nice, this will do just fine after I finish Subnautica.
"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."
Will continue it after it gets Gold edition. Don't know how fixed it right now but don't want to play it again just to get stucked at some quest. Or maybe in 5 years or whenever they release Acts.
The game certainly gave me good pc master race vibes, that has been a while (since HL2, I guess).
Despite its flaws, it's still an amazing game and unique experience. I also enjoyed a lot of the quests (the monastery comes to mind). Too bad I suffered a bit too many bugs (especially with broken quests) for it to be GOTY.
The roads around Rattay are far from safe, so Sir Radzig Kobyla has enlisted the help of an old acquaintance, the impoverished but wily BaronKuno of Rychwald, and his infamous mercenary band. Radzig sends Henry to guide the band around the territory... and to keep their unbridled appetite for trouble in check. They set out to patrol the province and soon discover that Radzig's sworn enemies from long ago have come to settle old accounts. The rival bands engage in a tit-for-tat war that finally culminates in an inevitable showdown.
Here's some gameplay and more details on the dlc. In short: it's combat focused. 1-3 hrs of gameplay. It takes place somewhere in the middle of the storyline.
Quite loving it. There was a freeleech a week ago or so, so decided to test it out (before I started Yakuza on a legit copy) and see how buggy it was.
15 hours in I just went: Kurwa! and bought it with all the DLC available. Started a new campaign and enjoying it quite a bit these 20'ish hours I'm into it again. It has some flaws and bugs but nothing game breaking so far. I really love the world they build, feels alive and I really like my peasant.
Kazuma shall need to wait.
That being said I thought they were done with the DLC's *shakes fist*
