depends on what games you like..some people like grinding stuff and considers it fun, other don't

i always liked more a linear campaign with a manual crafted experience like the developers wanted me to have instead of the open world bloated with random generated shit

Or do the Pit Fights. I like them. Found some really good orcs and gear in it. Even legendaries tho that's rare (but probably not rarer than from lootboxes). And it's quite fun to watch the orcs kill each other but would've been better if you could command the fighters (they will probably do that in some next game be it Middle Earth or anything else with Nemesis system).

I bet the two Tribe DLCs don't even add new regions with actual "new" "additional" fortresses.

Just adding more visuals for the Orc generator and "visuals" for the fortresses if you use the new tribals as overlords.

The story DLCs are propably also a seperate thing again just like in SoM...

@Bob: You know its not about needing them for me, its just that they even are in the game is what upsets me the most. This is a fucking SP Game...

And if this wasnt the turn off for me, then the pic with the dlcs is. Gaming Industry these days is just so full of shit.

Maybe ill try it if its on sale for 10 bucks and complete.

P.S: Atleast authoroties are getting aware of the lootbox shit.

I have to agree. When I saw that announcement where they showed fucking *legendary* orcs popping out of loot boxes, I was extremely disappointed.

I like my games to be atmospheric and not so gamey. I like it when stuff in the game makes sense in the context of the world so I can get lost in it. Soulsborne does that extremely well imo.

But here.... the loot boxes, or other shit like the orc with a lute that sings you a song because haha we need comedy for some reason...wtf? I don't want that. That's not lord of the rings. those things are not orcs. They just took it too far imo.

I wish there were lootboxes in the yarr version. Finished the game with 250k Mirian coins that would've gladly be spent on boxes because there is nothing else to do with them. The worst part about the game aren't even the boxes, it's ACT 4 !!! Defending 4 fortresses 3 times each probably caused me some brain damage... And even more retarded when 2 times I had some weird bug where Talion got stuck and could't move or attack so he just died and had to retake the stupid fortresses again. Mad

It's a good game until Act 4. Just skip it after that.

Loot boxes aside, this game's lackluster quality is a pretty good reflection for the current state of AAA games. I mean the gameplay remains entertaining with a few good improvements, but that's pretty much it.
The story once again tries to fit into this universe's lore but fails miserably at it (so far) with plenty of cringy moments and a writing that lacks proper transition between dialogues.
The automatic system of animations is quite choppy, you get stuck a lot and the animations aren't all that great (the running is laughable). If a developer goes for a gameplay system like this, they should at least make the animations fluid to interact seamlessly with the environment. AC: Origins is a good example of how this should be done.
The UI is the definition of lazy, uninspired and without any artistic direction, everything looks pretty much the same (why bother to make unique icons for different items, right?).
Then there is the world which once again feels barren and so artificial (can't get my hand on why, it must be the overall visual design) having little meaning other than following the cancerous trend of open environment filled with meaningless activities.
For a good laugh (some of the orcs are hilarious Very Happy) and some moments of pure action the game might be worth it. But the potential of Tolkien's universe is really wasted here.

yeah it was a very grindy repetitive game. the bits of the game i enjoyed were vastly outnumbered by the dull repetition. i relatively quickly realized i just wasnt having any fun, and uninstalled it.

This game is Shadow of Wasted Potential

There's about a million things that could be done to make it all deeper and more strategic but the nemesis system was just soo shallow all over again.

I'm glad I just got the isodemo and didn't buy this.

Fuck Warner Bros , fuck lootcrates, fuck dumbing down for mass appeal

The current update that optimized network traffic must have been for something else too, game exe went from 140 MB to 98 MB so I wonder if they changed the DRM a bit?

I doubt it's removed though but it's a weird file size changed from a patch where the only mentioned change is that the network traffic was optimized a bit.

Nemesis System:

Talion will now speak during domination sequences once players have reached Act III.
Marksmen Orcs will now try to surprise players more often from high vantage points.
When Uruks ambush players after calling a Caragor, they will now correctly ride atop the mount instead of appearing next to it.
Fixed an issue where Orcs would sometimes generate without a tribe or role.
Fixed an issue where a Follower who failed a power struggle could end up captured but not get placed in a Rescue or Bash mission.
Fixed an issue where Orcs would sometimes fail to go on a Vendetta mission after killing you.
Baz and Gaz will no longer go on power struggles against each other.
Fixed an issue where your Followers sent to reinforce a power struggle would sometimes fail to attack the enemy.
Fixed an issue where Ologs could sometimes spawn mounted on a Caragor.
Fixed an issue where you could not identify Captains during the introduction of Tribal Showdown missions.
Orcs with the Humiliator role will no longer kill you with No Last Chance.
Fixed an issue where you could resurrect a dead Follower after a Fight Pit match, but they would fail to enter the hierarchy.
Tricksters will now behave more appropriately when they want to fight you after a surprise ambush.
Fixed an issue where spies in Infiltration missions would sometimes forget their target master if the game session was restarted.
Captains who are thrown in a Slaughter tribe meatgrinder can no longer cheat death.


Balance:

Your Summon Bodyguard/Mount abilities will now reset their cooldowns when starting a quest.
Ologs no longer grab you when dashing over them from behind.
Fixed an issue where some Captains would display Dazed above their head but still fight back after certain attacks.
Fixed an issue where you could take unfair damage when dismounting, which manifested in a lot of sad deaths on Gravewalker Difficulty.
Fixed an issue where you could sometimes take fatal damage due to unavoidable hits after a presentation ended.
Fixed an issue where mounted bodyguards would not keep fighting if they were attacked.
Fixed an issue where a large number of Orcs could spawn very quickly in a small area.
Fixed an issue where Legendary Followers could inadvertently end up with four Epic traits when using contracts.
Fixed an issue where the Celebrimbor’s after-images from Elven Rage could block your own projectiles.
Fixed an issue when the last Elf-shot is used to throw a hammer while mounted, nothing would actually be thrown while the Elf-shot is still used.
Fixed an exploit where a Captain is kept in a permanent flurry state when using certain gear.
Fixed an issue where deploying Followers into the lowest row of the Minas Morgul hierarchy would always give them Iron Will.
Fixed an issue where slayers would not perform their triple strike attack against other Uruks.
Fixed an issue where traps (e.g. tracker snares) would inherit immunities.
The Slaughter tribe cleavers now transfer Poison, Curse and Fire effects to their targets.
Fixed an issue where Followers in Fight Pits were benefiting from the four-piece Outlaw set bonus.
Fixed an issue where the dark strikes attack would deal too much damage on the second attack.
Fixed an issue in which removing certain pieces of gear would cause other, similar gear traits to stop working.
Fixed an issue where freeze-on-crit weapons would work against frost proof Captains.
Fixed issue where carved and polished life Gems used the same value when slotted in weapons.
Fixed an issue where wealth Gem Mirian rewards on daggers and ranged weapons were swapped.
Fixed an issue where Recover Health/Might/Wrath on Dominate rune properties were only activating on brand attacks and not other Drain attacks.
Fixed an issue that could prevent an Overlord from gaining levels when winning a ranked Online Fight Pit match.
Reduced the likelihood that new Captains entering the Army menu will replace Followers purchased from the market.
Fixed a market issue where the Olog Destroyer’s Chest was sometimes not properly getting consumed when opening.
