Alternatively we could use some sort of Joomla or Drupal system, and just have someone from the forums handle the custom graphics. Ixigario for example Razz Again I have very little experience here.

Well, first of all, we need real reviews unlike other review sites that gets paid by some big companys to lick their balls. Obviously that's the purpose of our site....

I got a pretty neat system in my mind...let's see if I can explain it:

Let's say BF3 gets released. Registered users have the ability to write their own review about the game - how they liked it, about the game mechanics, their conclusion, bla and so on. We could give them some options like uploading screenshots from bulgaria (Cool Face) / videos and giving them a scale to rate the game.

I was thinking of something exactly along these lines! "our own people" would be a review team that gets elected by site moderators Smile

Well if you guys are serious, I can do the code. I've got most of what it'll take already done on a website I've worked on, including reviews+rating, a GiantBomb API client to fetch game lists, etcetera. The codebase on that is outdated, but shouldn't be particularly hard to update to the newest version of our framework Smile

The idea is basically Giantbomb but then moderated by the ever-trolling-and-hating humpers? Razz

Hmm , imo , there shouldn't be a scoring system , it's either good , great , bad , or a fucking mess , those kinds of verdicts since people would just look for the score and you could mention all the good and the bad stuff in the review , thus making your view more relevant than just saying 8.5 or some shit.
But seeing the crysis 2 thread and how the game is blasted to kingdom come , i don't see how it would really work since it'll be all derpy and shit and make the game worse than it is , and instead of reviewing crysis 2 , it'll be a comparison of the first game and bitching on how they fucked the series with consolization.
Don't get me wrong , i'd love too see that in a review , but in this case i think it would make up most of the review.
Also , the person who'd review game must like Deus Ex , or else he won't have any credibility on this site Cool Face

If you want to find good people to do this shit , make a sort of contest , every applicant must review the same game (no scoring in any way since it would interefere because of personal tastes) and registerd users could vote if the review was actually helpfull.
