Hey surray would be great if you could help!
Actually the subbing is very easy, as the kmplayer has an inbuild subtitles editor. Just start it (menu, subtitles, subtitle manager). I there you activate the edit field and thats it.
Now, whenever someone talks, press the a button in the editor. The movie will stop and a time marker will be set. Now just enter what they said and press play again. Repeat. After some sentences of dialog I go back and check the timing of the subtitles to make sure that they appear when they should and disappear after some time

Just copy the file into the movie folder and start the movie with kmplayer
@Ronhrin: I already send you a pm Well you can take this one too But as I said, just ~40-45 minutes subbed

Just post the results from time to time, so that we can coordinate who does which part Would suck if we both translate the same part of the movie
Yeah and with kmplayer it's really not that hard Would have been nice if we could see the audio data too, so that adjusting the subtitle start would be easier but whatever!

Just use Subtitle Workshop for subbing, it's brilliant.

well, looks like I screwed up on saving and everything I did yesterday is gone. lol
before going to sleep I went to 'save as' and 'save subtitle as...' and overwrote the old file.
I guess that wasn't what I supposed to use because I ended up with an empty file. doh.
about subtitle workshop, I just tried it but it crashes when I try to load the video.

You have to save the subtitles with "rebuild ...". That's what happened to me too. I lost 5 minutes of subbing

sucks.
I guess I should have been more careful and saved it seperately and checked the file before closing kmplayer, i was just too tired.
anyway, I've resumed work.
Is there anyone else who's working on this right now?
Do we have to coordinate anything?

I wanted to go on this evening. Which part of the movie are you subbing?
If you want to, we can split this evenly

cool.
right now I'm doing 1:15 (75 minutes in) to the end.
I did minute 45 to about 60 yesterday but that's what I lost so don't really want to do that part all over again.

OK I did the first ~40 minutes...
To which exact minute and dialogue are you going to do the sub? I will start from there on till the end
Ah you want me to do the 40-60 too? Actually you could do that faster, but no problem

yeah, should be done soon.
PumpAction, if you don't feel like doing the whole rest then just do some part of it and I'll fill in the rest tomorrow if I get to it.

In case anyone wanted to watch it so far.
tb salutes Pump Action and Surray for their hard and boring work, I mean how often do people do things for virtual strangers with no reward?

I been checking this thread for a few days now to see how the sub is getting on but never actually read or checked any of the links posted. The pictures in one of the links of this film looks stunning and I can't wait to see it now. This willl be the first Swiss film I've seen, I've literally never heard of anything else of note to come from there.
Thanks for all the hard work lads, the interwebz applauds you !!

I watched the first 10 minutes with the subs and was blown away.
How this film has not had a wider critical reception God only knows, probably due to liberal critics hating (themselves) and the sci fi genre.

I agree, for some unknown reason scifi movies are never that popular. I think dumb f*cks hate films that make them think. Another thing that annoys me is when people refuse to watch films that have subs so basically they'll never watch anything outside of Hollywood.
